User Configuration

User Configuration is where users can set a series of preferences across different modules, as well as configure the Floating Action Button Settings.

It can be accessed via Home - User Management - User Configuration.

User Preferences

1. Email Receipt for Emails Uploaded to AOS

This option allows users to select whether they would like to receive an email notification to confirm that an email has been successfully uploaded to a client record.

Note: This is only related to emails being uploaded from user registered email to AdviceOS, not emails sent from AdviceOS to clients.

Example of the email notification:

If users choose not to receive email notification for successfully sent emails to AOS, the email can still be tracked down in the Email section of a client record, however users will not be notified that it is uploaded.

Note: Users will still receive email notifications for emails that fail to attach to a particular client record. See the two examples below:

Example 1:

Example 2:

2. Default Surplus/Deficit direction in Cashflow & Capital

This option allows users to have any surplus or deficit automatically allocated to Cash Account in Cashflow and Capital.

Note: Any change with this preference will not be reflected in any existing scenarios. It will be reflected in new Cashflow and Capital scenarios for existing clients, or any scenarios for new clients.

Option 1:  No auto allocation of surplus/deficit.

Users will see zero allocation for all available accounts on Surplus and Deficit tab in Cashflow and Capital.

Users can then manually input the allocations as they wish. If left at zero, the surplus and deficit will not be redirected at all.

Option 2: Auto allocate to cash account.

Users will see 100% allocation to Cash Account in Surplus and Deficit tab in Cashflow and Capital.

Users will still be able to manually adjust the allocation with this option selected.

3. Default Insurance Status in Fact Find

This option allows users to set the default filter status in Fact Find - Insurance.

Fact Find - Insurance will then display the default status selected by the user. User will still be able to manually change the filter option.

4. Future/Present Value in Modelling

This option allows users to determine whether projections are discounted for inflation or not discounted for inflation in modelling.

Modules it impacts include Cashflow and Capital, Contribution Optimiser, Transitions and Retirement.

For example, when Future value mode is selected for this preference, the Show Present Values tickbox is unticked by default in the below four modules.

Cashflow and Capital - Scenario Comparator

Contribution Optimiser - Strategy Details

Transitions - Strategy Details

Retirement - Settings

Note: The change will not impact existing clients or existing scenarios, for existing clients and scenarios users will need to change the present/future value in each specific module manually.

5. Default Email Signature

This option allows users to choose whether or not to default user email signature when sending an email from AdviceOS.

This option

6. Custom Appointment Reminder Message and Birthday Message

This option allows users to set a custom message for Appointment Reminder Text and Birthday Text for clients.

For example, the reminder messages can be something like this.

Then when users go to Fact Find - Notifications, the messages will display the above custom texts.

If users wish to change the default texts, it can be done by ticking on Custom Text tickbox, and the Message field will become editable.

7. Verification of Mobile Numbers for SMS Functionality

Due to  upcoming changes in April 2024, all Advice OS users need to verify the mobile numbers listed on their User profile to be able to use it to send SMS from Advice OS. This verification process will be a one-time requirement and will help ensure that only authorised users can send SMS messages through the platform.  Re-verification will occur once every 12 months.
Please refer to SMS Functionality for more details as to how to complete the verification process.
